Dear [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE],
I recently had a conversation with someone that I wanted to share with you.
First, it’s my pleasure introduce Cher Hale, founder and director of Ginkgo PR, an agency that hopes to use public relations to create a more equitable media landscape. I’ve been following her work for a while, and so I was excited when she invited me to have a conversation about the Liberatory Reconnection Framework on her substack/sometimes podcast, Doing It for the Attention.
In this conversation, I shared the story behind the Liberatory Reconnection Framework: how it came to me one night while watching some TV, and how it's grown from a flurry of post-it notes into a way of understanding the disconnection that so many of us carry—from ourselves, from each other, from the Earth, and from our spirit and ancestors.
We talked about the ways capitalism, colonization, and supremacy work together to keep us fragmented, exhausted, and unsure of our worth. And we named how often our desire to be seen, to be heard, to be cared for—gets pathologized. Systems of oppression gaslight us, telling us we need to stay small in order to stay safe, and we internalize those messages.
But what if attention is actually sacred? What if the very act of witnessing—ourselves, each other, our ancestors—is a form of resistance and healing? if noticing ourselves and each other is part of how we break the spell of disconnection?
We also got into the heart of practice: what reconnection looks like in real life. I shared some of the ways I’m learning to listen to my body, rest without shame, and relate to my ancestors with care and curiosity.
I would be honored if you would take the time to listen or read our conversation.
This week, I invite you to reflect:
- Where are you being called to reconnect?
- What signals has your body or spirit been sending you lately?
- What would it feel like to be fully seen—and safe—in that visibility?
Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey. Let’s keep remembering together.
In solidarity and with care,
Was this forwarded to you?
Make sure you don't miss the next Liberatory Reconnection newsletter!
